The Demons that Lie Within

They haunt you in your sleeps,
They stalk you while you are awake.
They console you when you weep,
They pull you back into the darkness,
When your ego undertakes.
Behold yourself, and amalgamate your flaws,
As the demons crawl out, and fate withdraws.
They follow you in your dreams,
They chase you in your nightmares.
They suppress your inner screams,
They suppress your steps,
As you walk on sinister thoroughfares.
Behold yourself, and amalgamate your flaws,
As the demons crawl out, and fate withdraws.
They hide inside, when there’s a smile on your face,
They wait and wait, as long as you are content.
And when life gets disturbed, off it’s pace,
They sneak shoot out of their spots,
And wreak havoc until your ego tells you,
“Well spent”.
Behold yourself, and amalgamate your flaws,
As the demons crawl out, and fate withdraws.
You cannot avoid them,
As they are woven into your soul.
You can’t kill them,
As they are the results of your own fouls.
You know they are there, you can feel them.
It doesn’t matter how much you deny
Your corruption at your core,
As it is one of the crucial things that defines you.
And your demons hold it up,
And strengthens its stems.
Behold yourself, and embrace your flaws,
As the demons crawl out, and fate withdraws.
